Seasonal Meter Service Tech

Approximate dates: April 2019 - October 2019

Position will coordinate a weekly route with the Customer Service Specialist to find water services, lift meter lids, and re-program reading devices and meters and then record the data. Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of insurability. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and use hand tools and perform hand-digging. Computer skills and customer services skills are a must.

Hours: 4 - 10 hour days, Tuesday thru Friday, 7am - 5:30pm

Salary: $16.69/hr

Underground Repair Sewer Seasonal Laborer

3 positions available

Seasonal help with the sewer collection system. Operates chainsaw, wood chippers, and hand tools. Uses specialized equipment to maintain and operate the sewer collection system. Requires ability to read and understand the District’s grids. Must be able to work unsupervised. An understanding of the equipment used to maintain and operate a sewer collection system is preferred.

40 hours a week from Mid-May to October

Shifts:  7- 5:30 Monday - Thursday

7- 5:30 Tuesday - Friday

Rate of Pay: $16.29/hr

 Underground Water Laborer

3 positions available

Repairs leaks, installs services, shovel work, sweeping, repairing hydrants and general laborer work. Must be able to work around traffic and work in ditches. Experience with heavy equipment is a plus. General laborer and construction experience preferred.

40 hours a week from Mid-May to October

Shifts:  7- 5:30 Monday - Thursday

7- 5:30 Tuesday - Friday

Rate of Pay: $16.69/hr

Pumps Crew Laborer

2 positions available

Experience working in construction type environments. Landscaping, painting and general maintenance experience is desired. Safety conscience, experience working around traffic. Experience using hand tools. Must be a able to work unsupervised. Duties include Painting of water and sewer facilities, general yard cleanup, BMP cleanup & landscaping, general site improvements, maintenance of water and sewer facilities.

40 hours a week from Mid-May to October

Shifts:  7-5:30 Monday - Thursday

7- 5:30 Tuesday - Friday

Rate of Pay: $16.69/hr

Water Educator

Under the supervision of the Water Conservation Specialist, this position will enforce the District’s Water Conservation Ordinance. Duties include: driving, walking, and/or biking around neighborhoods in the District’s service area looking for violators of the WC Ordinance; educating the public through direct communication with home and business owners on the watering restrictions in South Lake Tahoe and the need for conservation; issuing written warnings and violations as necessary; maintaining database of violations; perform inspections for watering exemptions; occasionally assisting with surveying and mapping properties for the Turf Buy-Back Program,  waterline/meter installation project assistance, and administrative duties as assigned.

Approximately 20 hours per week (June thru August). Must be able to work early mornings, nights and weekends - varied shift.

Rate of Pay: $16.69
