Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Engineering Department Manager, is responsible for the management of engineering design and the integrated management of capital program and project level planning, in coordination with construction efforts. Manages multiple elements of complex, multi-disciplinary public works projects. Provides leadership and direct supervision for professional and technical engineering staff, with extensive interaction with other organizational units, public agencies, consultants, contractors and public groups. Performs other management and administrative duties as required.

Equipment Used
Surveying equipment, drafting equipment, personal computers, various software including word processing and spreadsheets, engineering analytical and CAD programs, various specialized inspection and testing equipment.
Working Conditions
During the winter, main environment is that of an indoor office with some exposure to unpleasant wastewater treatment odors. During the summer, some time may be spent inspecting projects, usually outside in noisy, dusty areas, including confined spaces. May be required to work in inclement weather. Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week on a frequent basis with minimal equivalent time off granted.
