Job Summary
Under the direction of the Principal Engineer, performs duties of project manager and project engineer for large and small multi-disciplinary public works projects. Responsible for complex, multi-disciplinary engineering work including planning, budgeting, management of consultants, design, permitting, construction inspection and management and significant contacts and coordination with staff, public agencies, engineers, contractors, businesses, and the public.

Equipment Used
Surveying equipment, drafting equipment, personal computers, various software including word processing and spreadsheets, engineering analytical and CAD programs, various specialized inspection and testing equipment.
Working Conditions
During the winter, main environment is that of an indoor office with some exposure to unpleasant wastewater treatment odors. During the summer, some time may be spent inspecting projects, usually outside in noisy, dusty areas, including confined spaces. May be required to work in inclement weather. Must be able to work varied hours and work more than 40 hours per week on a frequent basis with minimal equivalent time off granted.
