Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Underground Sewer Repair Supervisor, provides job site direction to the Underground Repair employees and performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and operating work, and related tasks. Trains less experienced workers. Performs regular Underground Repair employee duties as required to complete assigned jobs efficiently.

Equipment Used

Trucks, backhoes, loaders, forklifts, vacuum trucks, sweeper, t.v. camera equipment; air compressors, jackhammers, wackers, rodding and sewer cleaning equipment, snow removal equipment and other related equipment, including Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus.

Working Conditions

Most work is performed outdoors, sometimes in severe weather conditions, usually on roads and highways, manholes and in ditches or trenches, storms, snow, rain, and ice, and some limited office work. Exposure to sewer gases and various chemicals in confined spaces depending on job assignment. Possible exposure to other chemicals used in sewer maintenance work. Uses chemicals and grouts which may be listed under MSDS as dangerous chemicals requiring the proper protective equipment for safe use. Exposure to wet and muddy conditions. Occasional entry into manholes is required.
