South Tahoe PUD would like you to help spread awareness of the importance of fixing water leaks in your home. Leaks waste our drinking water and can cause your water bill to increase. Help conserve our natural resource and save money on your bill by finding and fixing leaks.

The average household’s leaks can account for nearly 10,000 gallons of water wasted every year and ten percent of homes have leaks that use 90 gallons or more per day. Common types of leaks found in the home are toilet flappers, dripping faucets, and leaking valves.

    WaterSmart Leak Finding – Log into your WaterSmart account to learn how to find and fix common leak. Follow the step-by-step directions or watch a video.

    Leak Adjustment Request - If you receive a large water bill due to a leak, you can apply for an adjustment once you have repaired the leak. A request for a water bill adjustment must be submitted to the District within thirty (30) days of discovery of the water leak.

    Leak Repair Rebate - Offer up to $500 for having a verified water leak repaired by a licensed contractor, excavator or plumber. W-9 form to be complete with application.
